Can someone identify the plug in the attached photos? 70 442, original carburetor, distributor and coil with external resistor, automatic, AC. The wires are green and the plug was tucked behind the back of the motor behind the distributor when I bought the car. Obviously the connector has seen better days. Any help would be appreciated. Thx.
Yes, this connector goes to the solenoid valve for the transmission controlled spark system, a prehistoric emissions control system designed to reduce NOx emissions by disabling vacuum advance in the lower gears. Apparently yours has been bypassed. Nice mouse-nibbling on the connector body.
