Need a 94 amp alternator, please advise

I've read quite a bit on the forums, and I'm hesitate to write here because my car is "Oldsmobile powered," not an Oldsmobile. That being said, I've learned most of what I need to know for repairs here.

have an 1984 LeSabre with a 307. I need to upgrade my alternator from the 78 amp unit on the car to a 94 amp unit to power my new audio system. I'm having trouble understanding what A.I.R. (Air Injector Reactor) is when looking online for parts. How can I tell if my car has this? I'm assuming it's some type of smog pump, but I have NO idea if there's an RPO code that would indicate. The car has lived it's entire life in New Jersey, I even have the window sticker (still only has about 73k miles). Additionally, I would be upgrading all of the wiring for the alternator. New grounds, etc.

Yes, your Oldsmobile-sourced 307 is an Olds motor. All 307s have A.I.R. (smog pump). As for your alternator, you have two easy choices. Either get the 94 amp 12SI alternator used in the 1987 Olds Custom Cruiser with 307 (ACDELCO 3342305) or the 105 amp CS130 alternator used in the 1988-90 Custom Cruiser (ACDELCO 3351011). Both are available at RockAuto. Both bolt directly to your existing brackets. The 12SI is an easy plug-in replacement. The CS130 requires the SI-to-CS conversion harness jumper, due to the different plug. Either one of these takes about 15 minutes to install.

ACDelco Professional PT2145

Is that the correct part for the harness jumper? I think I'd rather go with the 105 (it's also the same price as the 94 even with the harness if that p/n is correct).

Pretty simple. Look at your SPID label in the trunk. If you see RPO K19, you got a smog pump/air injection reaction system.

Yes, that works.
