Question How does it get "From here to there?"

Hi all. Still working on redoing my '66 442 and all in all it's coming along very well. I have a little glich that I need some help working out. My 442 is a 4-speed car and so it has the backup light switch on the side of the transmission. I can't figure out how the wire is routed from under the car into the interior compartment. Does it route with the speedo cable or is it to enter through the firewall at a different location? Can't seem to find it in the Chassis Manual or the Fisher Body Manual or the Assembly Manual. Maybe I'm just not finding it in there. Thanks for taking the time to read this and hopefully help me out.

Try PMing John 2blu442 he would know or maybe Rund2rund, I don't know a thing about 66s or 67s or 64/65s for that matter - Just like tham all the same.

Hi Fred
I have a 1967 442 4 speed project car. But two owners ago he was parting it out due to rust around the front and rear glass So it may not have the harness on it anymore. But I'll check tomorrow in the daylight and if so will take pictures of what I find.

Its missing a lot, but it was born as a bench seat, post car with no power options and 3.90 posi rear end. Too cool of a car to part out due to a little rust... so for now I'm daydreaming about saving it.

See the 66 assembly manual, p. 12-2.23 and nearby pages. The grommet is outboard of the pass through for the main wiring harness.

Thanks to all who responded. I'll check the pages mentioned and if I still have trouble I'll contact GEARHEAD78. I'm sure I just overlooked it in the Assembly Manual. If you do get a chance to take a pic John I would still like to see it visually if I could. Thanks for the offer.

Hi Fred
The harness on my car was cut under the floorboards, probably when they removed the transmission. But from what Run to Rund said I believe this is the location where it goes through the firewall.

excellent shots John... they really help... *** for parting out that car cause of rear window and windshield rust --- DON'T YOU DARE -- you fix her up and what a sweet car she'll be. Course I'm kinda a partial to '66 442's. Seriously though, I hope you decide to keep and safe her...

Thanks again,

That is the grommet. The backup light harness is two green wires that are connected and look like household lamp/extension cord.
