Headlight parklight problem

Headlight parklight problem
I have just completed a body off restoration on my 1966 Cutlass 442. I have a new Main Lamp Switch, a new Foot Dimmer Switch and a new Front Lamp and Engine Harness.
My first problem is that I have no Park Lights when my Main Lamp Switch is set for all lights on. I have Tail Lights, Signal Lights, and four Headlights but no Park lights. When I set the Main Lamp Switch to Park and Taillights only I then have Park Lights. Maybe this is the way it is supposed to work????
My second problem is when I try to select Low Beams with the Foot Dimmer Switch I lose all my headlights. There is no power at the lamp connections.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Pat I don`t think 66 had the park light option I believe 67 or 68 was the first year... but don`t quote me on that.....
It might be a faulty dimmer switch do you still have the original?

Thanks Wes.
That was the next thing I was going to try - take up the rug and see if I have power coming out of my dimmer switch. You solved my park lamp problem though - thanks.
M&H supplied the harness.

Pat, I agree with Wes. With my 1967 4 door the parking lights go out when I pull the headlight **** fully out and the headlights come on.
Years ago I had a dimmer switch go bad, and that's what it did. Low beams but no high beams. I tested it by jumping the plug with a paperclip. Jump from the hot wire to one of the other two and see high or low beams come on. Then switch, hot wire and the other one to see if you get the other high or low to come on. That isolates it at the dimmer switch. John

I have had bad luck with a lot of the chinesium repros / replacements.
If the old dimmer does not work either, then it is also possible that the wires in the harness are not in the right slots in the connector.
