Fasten Seat Belt Light is haunted!
Fasten Seat Belt Light is haunted!
Hey Y'all,
I have a '75 Delta 88 Convertible, and the Fasten Seat Belt light comes on whether there is someone in the passenger seat or not (seat belt is fastened). Some of the circuit was already disconnected when I got the car 20 years ago and it went away when I had some work done on it 10 years ago. I recently upgraded all the bulbs to LEDs and I must have accidentally connected it back up while I had the dash apart to replace bulbs.
I've disconnected every wire I can find under the seat, but the light still comes on after a few minutes in Drive and never goes out until I put it back into Park. I've looked (unsuccessfully) for a wiring diagram for the car, but what I really need to know is what color the wires for this circuit are. Any information on the system design and sensors might be helpful in finding a work-around (like disabling or wiring around the sensors). This should be a simple problem to fix, but I'm missing a couple specifics that could help me avoid taking the dashboard apart again.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can you post a pic of the wiring diagram? On the later cars, the chime module supplies power to the seat belt light. If your car is the same, it should be pretty easy to pick the wire out of the connector
