Convertible top motor

So I've learned that the original convertible top motor/pump in my 62 Starfire has been replaced with a more modern permanent magnet type motor. THe repairmman knows more about electronics than me for it appears he knew how to add a relay to make it work off of the original dash mounted switch.

THe original wiring in the trunk (Red & Green) get juice when using the switch on the dash. I also tested the motor and it works in both directions. How do I get it to work with the original switch. THe relay that was used looks home made and appears to be the problem. Does anyone know how to wire the newer to the old ?

Thanks, 70 ctls

Not sure what motor you have, but mine doesnt have a relay. The 2 wires from the switch go directly to the motor.
