Chineseium amp gauge
My cheepo Sunpro amp gauge went "Tango Uniform" and spark flew while a friend was driv'in the Vista.
I guess Pop was right when he said,
"Ya get what a pay fer.............if you're lucky"
I think the charred Made in China says it all.

YEOW! I have opted for a voltmeter instead of a true Ammeter because of the high current present at the gauge, that kind of damage shown is good enough reason for me. Any other damage done?

That's what my bud Donny does also.
Huuuuuuuuum Maybe I should rethink this one.

Jamsbo,
looks like you overcooked it. Next time turn it down to 200 after you brown it and let it bake for two hours, should turn out just fine. A nice glaze will set it off well.
PS I vote for the volt gauge as well

I was behind the Visa in Jamesbo's Droptop when this happened.I thought it was on fire from the smoke that came from the car.
Fellow Olds owners on the way home from the BOP&C pulled over with us. There were 3 fire extinguishers on that car in 20 seconds.THANKS GUYS!!!!
It was all burnt wire smoke,no fire but very close.
Believe it or not a Swiss Army knife and finger nail clippers got her going and back home.(I love these old cars)
Note the knife and clippers were NOT made in china.
It burnt the lead from the gauge all the way to the battery.WOW
