I removed the A/C from my car and installed the after market delete plate. Where do you mount the blower motor resistor? It used to plug into the side of the condensor box.

 

If you installed a plate so you can still use the heater and blower, the plate will need a hole cut in it for the resistor.
The resistor MUST be installed in the blower's airflow (close to the motor) to keep it cool, otherwise it's magic smoke will be released quickly...

 

Thanks for the info. By the way will the fan motor receive any power if the resistor is not plugged in at all? I would assume not.

 

On high I believe it will, as long as the rest of the circuit is operational.

 

I hope this works in this spot cause this is where mine is now...I think I had to lengthen the wires to get it to reach from the AC control panel? I think thats where it came from?? I did it a couple of months back and can't remember...getting old is hell.

I think that should work okay - it is in the airflow. Ideally it would have been on the steep angled up section for max flow.

 

Mine is almost the same as Tom's. Occasionally fan will not work at any speed but pretty sure it's a ground issue.
