Okay Guys-Your thoughts please.
Finishing up interior work. In plugging the horn wire into the relay on my 1967 Toronado tilt-telescopic horns blow without touching the steering wheel..
I have had the steering wheel off down to the horn ring to replace the ring. In doing that, I cleaned up the two buttons, their contacts & checked the wires. Everything looks good. I also noticed that the spring loaded button in the column (facing the steering wheel) is in constant contact with the underside (brass?) horn ring which makes sense as the two buttons on the steering wheel activate the horns, Hope I'm not loosing you.
Anyway, in reading several of the archives on Toronado & 98 steering wheels & horns. It would seem the horns blow constantly or not at all.
Sure would like to get them to work like they should. Would anyone know what part(s) wears out or what the common problem and fix is?
Thank you.
It turned out to be both. There was a wire stuck under the horn rim.
And
popped the cover off the horn relay and it was very corroded.
Fixed & replaced both and it is working fine now.
