Question 84 Cutlass Supreme Low battery/charge Ligh wont shut off

My alternator is brand new and charging but the charge/low battery light wont shut off. I can disconnect the battery and the car will stay running. I am not using the ECM or 307 emissions. I have a stock olds 350 wit 2004r and it runs great. It buzz and the light will get brighter when I press on the brakes or the accelerator. So I am pretty sure it is a wire loose or crossed under the dash. I just wanted to know if any one has a starting point I can go from. I forgot to mention it wont buzz unless its in gear. Also my check engine light is on because I have everything disconnect for the emissions and I am not using the computer for my engine. I pulled the fuse for the ecm to see if it would make it turn off which it didn't. Should I just take the bulb out or paint it black? Thank you for your help in advance.

it is not good practice to disconnect the battery on a running vehicle-that can instantly cook an otherwise good alternator. the instantaneous load dump can fry other electronics on the vehicle too as the alternator's output voltage skyrockets.
