71 cutlass washer motor

I installed a new washer motor as the old one had the electrical connections broken off. The wiper motor works perfectly. Installed new washer motor and its always on when wipers are on. It is not electrical issue as i didn't connect the connector to it yet. Is there a specific way the washer pump gear must be orientated before I mount it to washer motor? Or is this just more junk parts and I got a bad one.

Yes, there is a very specific process for "timing" the washer pump gear when installing a new pump. You can't just bolt it on randomly. The Chassis Service Manual describes the process.

Just reviewed the procedure, Seems a little complicated but I guess when I receive the pump I will find out.

Thanks
