68 cutlass turn signals not working

If there is a trouble shooting thread in here I would appreciate a link. Turn signals worked fine one day, next the lights don't flash but do come on. If I manually move the turn signal lever I can make them turn on and off. Checked all grounds with a meter. Replaced the flasher relay, found one bulb with a burnt filament, replaced that and inspected all sockets which are not corroded etc. Hazards do not work either, but all tail/parking/running lights do. Could the problem be in the column / lever?
Thanks in advance.

Start by swapping the signal stats and looking for a bad bulb.

The no-flash situation is normal when a bulb burns out. If the bulbs are fine, replace the flasher module. Keep in mind that the turn signal flasher module is NOT the one you see on the fuse box, it's up under the dash to the left of the steering column.

thanks joe, I’ll crawl under the dash and find it, does it look similar to the fuse box relay?

Yes. It's on a pigtail from the dash harness, and it SHOULD be held by a clip on the metal part of the dash, but I've almost never found them actually clipped into place.

What does the "relay"? on the fuse box do then?

It's not a relay, it's a flasher module, and it is for the hazard flashers.

So I’ve been under the dash for a good half hour and there is nothing, no pigtail, no module. Any idea what color wires go to the module? That might help. I noticed a turn signal fuse in the fuse box, it is Not burnt.

A purple wire and a green with white stripe. It's outboard of the steering column, about above your left leg if you were sitting in the driver's seat.
