68 cutlass gauge lights not working
68 cutlass gauge lights not working
I have a 68 cutlass vert, and all electrical works, but gauge cluster. No lights come on etc brake, gen, oil, hot. The panel light comes on for the speedometer. My gas indicator is past full. I have ordered sending unit to trunk harness, it was cut. I looked under dash and all is plugged except a pink and orange harness connector that i have no clue where its goes. Its also a brown wire with whites stripes down the side. Can someone help me out.
I can try to help you the reason your lights don't work is more than likely a ground issue. Check your ground at the gauges also the pink wire is for the ignition it should be going back to the fuse panel. I believe your brown wire is actually tan with 2 white stripes is for the brake light. If they are out of the harness there is a schematic for that on a previous forum. But it should be from left to right in the harness grey, tan, blue with white stripes, tan with white stripes, pink, beige, dark green. Hope this helps.
Ive posted pics of the wires, or trying for the first time to lol. I dont have any other electrical issues other than my gauge lights. So im curious if they have something to do with my gauge lights not working, or could one be for the radio?

From the pics I don't think they have anything to do with your problem I had this problem with my 69 and it was just a crappy ground. Honestly that's always a good place to start I have been driven nuts over something as simple as that before so before throwing money away check it out.
