1961 Olds 88 gen light on help! Volt reg fuse?
Okay guys now I need help!
I have a gen light on in my dash and tried to test the gen and found no output. So I replaced with a used gen and light was still on. I found some output from that gen.
I tried polarizing (a-b term jumper), it didn't help....THEN......
I looked in the old gen and looks like small amount of fresh solder bits.
Did I do that by 'testing it?' I hooked a mutimeter to the posts.
Then I also found this "fuse" between my red wire and the batt terminal on my regulator, its melted and the ceramic is broken. What would cause the gen to melt and the fuse to blow? I'm scared to try another fuse cause I don't want to melt the gen.
What kind of fuse can I replace this with?
