65 signal switch w/tilt&corners

This switch is column mounted and hard to find. I decided to attempt repairing it after spraying with contact cleaner did not work.
I removed it from the column, carefully bent back the 3 metal tabs holding it together and got it apart. I always dissassemble something like this over a shallow pan to catch the springs and contacts.
There are 4 springs and contacts, and 4 steel ***** that go between the plastic slider and the steel frame that holds it all together.
Cleaned it all up, lubed with dieletric grease and carefully held it all together, bending the tabs back in place.
All tested well. When complete, continuity should be as follows.
Middle position- White wire has continuity to yellow & green
Right turn- White to yellow,,,,, purple to green and dark blue
Left turn- White to green,,,,,Purple to yellow and light blue
Here are some pics. Sorry for the quality. This is the first time I have tried to explain how to do something on the net and should have taken more pics.
Hope this helps someone.

Nice. I just reconditioned a '67 throttle position switch with the same technique. It's nice when they don't disintegrate into pieces when handling them. It's also nice when they work back in circuit!

I hear you. I always try to fix stuff like this, but not always successfully.
Willj, The tilt wheel switches mount down low on the side of the column and operate by a cable. The switch also has extra contactors for the cornering lights. Once I did not see a replacement at Rock, I took a quick look around and did not find one. I am sure they are out there, but I bet it couldn't be had for less then $100.
