63 88, changed voltage reg,volts a little high?
was driving myself crazy with on and off charging problems. i traced it back to what looked like a new reg til i took it off, replaced it with a new one definately hooking it up correctly to the field, 1, 2 and 3 (3 is a condenser for radio interference i believe). the new one smoked and smelt slightly, and now it gets pretty warm although i believe this is what regulators do normally although ive yet to really tracel and am hoping it breaks in without overheating. lights are bright no flickers and car is def charging good now, however now my turn signals blink pretty fast and the voltage at the battery is reading 15.5. is the voltage a little high, and can this be adjusted inside the regulator itself/how?

Your chassis service manual, electrical section, should give a table of voltage vs. underhood temperature that you should try to achieve by adjusting the regulator as necessary. IIRC, 14.5-15 will be OK cold, and about 13.5-14 volts at running temp (205 deg).

One thing is for sure....
These new solid state voltage regulators are way too cheeeeeezy.
Don't use an off-brand, they are problems as well....
I have N E W ++ D E L C O ++ Voltage Regulators.........
