52 holiday 88

I have a 52 holiday 88 I just purchased with charging issues according to my 1952 motors manual this car was a 6 volt syst and has been converted to a 12 volt syst with a generator for reliabilty im thinking of installing a 1 wire alt my questin just because im inqusitive has any one seen a 52 perhaps built late enough in the year to come through 12 volt the reason I ask is Ive looked all over this car for some resistors or any other evidance to a coversion and cannot find any the only thing 6 volt is starter and it prbebly dosent care if it has 6 or 12 volts to work were would be a good place to look for resistors I figures radio would be likely but none found.Thank you

The starter shouldn't care- it will work fine with either. Things that would have to be converted would be bulbs (obviously), any electric gauges (usually fuel gauge) heater blower motor, ammeter wiring would need to be reversed (to go from positive ground to negative ground), etc. Some electrical items that were 6 volt can be run on 12 volt if a special item called a "runtz" is installed so they work right.

From what I understand the starter should be fine but you need to change the solenoid to 12 volt like the 54 used. I don't think there is any chance the car was originally 12 volt since Olds didn't go the 12 volt until 1954.
