I have a 1969 Cutlass s, 350 motor, th350 transmission. I'm replacing wiring harnesses, currently the underdash harness that contains the fuse box. As I'm putting things back together I have a wire or two to ask about. My console wiring harness has a white lead and an orange lead coming out of the same branch of wire where the console harness comes up under the dash. The white wire goes to the driver side door jamb switch. Could someone confirm if the orange wire paired with the white
goes to the fuse box, and which connection? Check the picture, thanks folks!
We can guess where the orange wire in your image originates, but it would be a guess based upon the image you posted since no one but yourself can validate where the orange wire originates (of several known places). It's best to follow the orange wire to its source and review the 1969 color wiring diagram in the 1969 CSM. The orange wire is clearly demonstrated.
I don't own a 1969 CSM. I cannot guarantee the 1968 CSM color wiring diagram is the same for a 1969 A-Body CSM color wiring diagram. Therefore, you must validate this on your own. With that said, here is a link to the 1968 CSM color wiring diagram. As stated, trace your orange wire to its source.
In the 69 Cutlass CSM, pg 12AA-10 fig 12AA-29, what color is the wire connected to the fuse block front? Alternately, could someone with a correctly wired 69 Cutlass w\auto & console post a pic of your fuse block?

I suspect the 1969 CSM color wiring diagram will demonstrate the same ORANGE colored wire as is contained in the 1968 CSM color wiring diagram. If you have the 1969 CSM, this can be validated via the color wiring diagram.
Thank you! IMHO, the 68 diagram is more clear. In the 69 diagram the key is the dotted lines. Nice to see the battery connection labeled on the 68 diagram for us challenged folks

Agree. The ‘68 diagram better illustrates the fuse panel front connection is a direct path to the battery spade terminal. Different design illustrators for the two years, perhaps?
I am working on rewiring a 68 Cutlass "S" Convertible. My service manual stops at page 12AA-9, I just printed off that shared page 12AA-10. My question is, are there any more pages after 12AA-10 that I am missing? If so, I would really like if someone could share those pages so I could print them off & put them in my binder, if there's not too many pages left out.!?
Thanks
Paul
The factory Chassis Service Manual goes to Section 15 and then has the Toronado annex after that. Throw away that reprint and get an original paper CSM.
