1969 442 Distributor P-Tronics

So, we replaced the points and condenser in my 1969 442 400c.i. with P-Tronics Electronics. Now it runs like crap, like the timing is off or something. Hard to explain. My nephew /mechanic said we should change it over. Any experience with P-Tronics issues when replacing original points and condenser system? Thanks

Which Pertronix unit did you install? Did you reset the timing after the install? Is it wired with 12v to the module and the resistance wire to the coil?

My experience with Pertronix is that it left me on the side of the road when I had my 54. I went back to quality Delco points and condenser. I found the old NOS kind made in the USA on ebay. I would through the Pertronix in the trash. Of course you don't want to do that after you spent money on the conversion. Go back and read the instructions and make sure everything is installed correctly. When they are working, they are fine.

Installed this "Pertronix Ignition Conversion Kit | 1181" Yes as far as I know to your other questions, but I'll find out for sure today.
