1993 Olds Ciera 3.3L + temperature sensor / temperature sender
According to the diagram on Charm, which I have confirmed visually on my engine, there is a Temperature Sensor AND a Temperature Sender located directly next to each other just below the alternator.
Questions:
1. My assumption is that these 2 parts are related? Am I correct?
2. If so, should both parts be changed as a pair?
Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Most likely one of them is for the gauge and the other on is to turn the fan on. The do not need to be changed together. What type of problem are you trying to solve that you think one of them needs replacing ?
Start up rough, not necessarily cold (its around 60 degrees here in MA during mornings) but 1st start, or restart after sitting. Should just turn right over without any help from the accelerator, but it coughs and requires some revving to come to a steady idle.
Just tuned it up: sparks, wires, coils, & fuel filter. I run Lucas Fuel Injector Fluid regularly, fill at 1/4 tank. It should be running like a jet.
Inherited this car in 2007 from an aunt @ 9K. Ran as my daily up to 2012. Today it has 143K under occasional use. Back up to my 99 GMC Sonoma 2.2L,5spd which I love to bang around in.
