1967 Cutlass supreme fuel gauge

Well, the fuel gauge is out in my car and not the sender or ground wires

I see this part on eBay - does the 1967 442 and Cutlass Supreme use the same gauge?

most of the time the problem lies in the sending unit in the tank, or a poor connection to the sending unit (on the tank)

you can easliy test it bu disconnecting the tank sending brown wire, and reading the gauge needle. then, ground the brown wire and the needle should go the opposite way.

the sending unit is fine - the ground is connected and solid; the problem lies in the gauge

Have you been working in the back of the dash lately?
I had a similar problem and have just restored mine.replated and re detailed it.
I found my problem.
