Hello all. Probably a stupid question but my one driver side low beam headlight is burned out. I have never replace them so if anyone has a link to send to me that would be great!
Also does anyone know if it's possible to put high-quality LED bulbs instead of the old-school bulbs?
LED conversions come with their own set of headaches. You need a 4656 sealed beam. Make sure it has 3 prongs on back.
R&R: you need a #10 or #15 Torx screwdriver to remove the headlight trim and a #2 Phillips screwdriver to remove the headlight retainer ring.
There are 8 Torx screws holding the trim on; make note of which length screw goes where. Remove it and set aside. You can leave the side marker lamp plugged in.
Remove the four retainer ring screws and pull the bulb forward. If those screws have never been out it may take some umph to break them loose. WD40 or PB Blaster and a GOOD heavy screwdriver just in case. DO NOT MESS WITH THE ADJUSTER SCREWS AT TOP AND SIDE OF THE LAMP.
Unplug the old lamp, plug in the new one and then turn lights on both high and low beam before putting it all back together. If the lamp works, reverse procedure and button everything back up.
Word to the wise- newer production sealed beams for our older cars are, to be blunt, not worth a ****. I've recently had a 7-month old low beam burn out and a 2-month old one crack for no good reason. These are Chinese-made Sylvania Halogens. DK what Wagners might do, but they're about all that's available. unless you find an old stock American made one in an older parts store.

About 15 years ago I acquired some seal beams from a friend's business when he closed it to move south.. I will have to check them to see it they are marked as to the actual manufacturer... They have been in storage so long I can't recall if they are Sylvania or Wagner... I have several cases of various numbers both round and rectangular...
