w33 70 Delta new question
Can any one tell me what the H.D. wheels consisted of? I think they are wider, but that may be the tire size that is on it. I like the wide stance. Look at my pic's to see what I am talking about. Thanks
For '69 and '70, the HD wheels (403898) are also 15" x 6". Included in your J55 heavy duty power disc brake package.
I presume that starting in '69 they went to a lighter standard 15" x 6" wheel, because these "heavy duty" wheels were the standard 15" x 6" wheel in '67 and '68.
I also believe these heavy duty 403898 wheels should be stamped 15" x 6" JK inside, but I have not verified this.

The 15" heavy duty wheels used in '67 & 68 had a solid, unvented center disc and were made by Kelsey-Hayes. They're quite heavy and if I recall correctly, the centers are riveted into the rims. Was this the same wheel used in '69-70?
Wow,Interesting. I need to pop off a hub cap and see. thank you ,it is so cool learning all the different things about these cars.
Apparently all 88 and 98 15" wheels are the same in '67 and '68. Bear in mind that the standard wheel was 14" in '67-'68 and 15" in '69-'70.

Do you plan to be at the 2010 Nationals in Mass?
The reason why I ask, I have (4) 15x6 rims and one 15x7 JJ code unit.
All are Oldsmobile steel wheels (not teh SSI or II jobs). If you are going to be there , I would like to see these rims first hand .
I might set up as a vendor for the show.
I have not made plans for the nationals, I will take some picks and get back to ya. I love what you have done to your toro, I know where one is sitting here in the dallas area. I will stop and ask about it if I ever see someone out.

I don't show 15 x 7 rims showing up until 1973.
I was just out in the garage checking on some parts for people and took a look at my '67-68 15" wheels. Turns out they are not marked with the Kelsey-Hayes "K-H" stamp. The only stamps I could find on them were 15 and LC on the outer rim near the valve stem. Since they have tires on them, I couldn't check for stampings on the inside.
The standard 14" wheels from my '67 Delmont are stamped K-H in the lug area. The 15's were original to my '68 Delmont convertible.
