324 or 394 ?

Bear, looking again at your engine it looks like you have all the stock accessries , but the valve covers look to be off a 394. did you hide a 394 in place of your 324?....Tedd

Welcome to CO Bear. I like the satin black and the bamboo mat interior, cool! I visit HAMB as well, bet your '56 is accepted well over there also.

Welcome. I spend a lot of time in Lompoc in the 1990s supporting launches at VAFB. Your Olds is one of the best looking four doors GM ever made, in my opinion.

I agree, it barely looks like a more door!!!! They did a great job hiding those rear doors!

Welcome to CO. So the guy you bought the car from did the interior? I would not feel to bad about changing the bamboo and going back to something more original, any plans for it or do you like the way it is? Sounds like a good trade but I don't know what condition your 60 ford truck was in.

Talking Welcome to CO

Hey Bear, Nice 4 door hardtop. An overlooked body style. Glad to have you aboard. As you can tell I like the early Olds

Lower it?

I droped my 55 about an inch and a half by going to 60 series tires.Lot easier and no problem putting it back to stock . But then again I don't know if wide whites are available in 60 series. I personally like black walls on 50 era cars but to each their own.I do like your ride the way it is though.....Tedd

G'day Bear. I'm with the Wolfman here, but then again I like Original. I have never seen a rattan / bamboo / or whatever it is interior in my life. A couple of potted palms and a beer cooler in the back plus replace the rear seat with a hammock and you got yourself a holiday resort on wheels.
I think your idea or original rims & whitewalls is a great idea. Its a tough looking old car.Welcome to the forum mate.

I was trying to put a picture of a sad, lonely looking guy walking along in my avatar but the ones on google images wouldn't stick. Thats how I feel without a car in the shed. Money left Oz yesterday and it should be mine on Monday. Exchange rate is fantastic at the moment. Up 30% on where it was a few months ago and 13cents in the dollar better than August when I bought the 67 convertible.
I've tried getting some pics on but they're all way bigger than the size we can upload. I'll get sonny boy to help me with that.

that seems like a pretty good score! I've recently picked up a 56 super 88 4dr post.
Those aluminum slot rims are bad luck for me. Every car I've had that had those ended up in the wreckers!
I believe the bolt pattern for these cars are 5x5.
I kinda like the bamboo...you've got to get a hula doll for the dash

hey the car looks good, it's definitely going to look good lowered with the wide white walls. BTW, I saw you posted that you were looking for new taillights and turn signals. These people sell then plus other parts for our year
