Very elegant and classy looking car, with a powerhouse thundering 307!! I see the check engine light works!
You have a gorgeous looking car. Read your plans. Primer?? You planning to change the color or repair some rust/body issues not in the photos?
You should send some of those pics in to BigJerr for his 2012 Calendar!

)I'll have to look into that. I want to keep the sleeper status, but everybody and their mother has exhasut on a car today
You have been seriously misled. Heck, the years you quote (1978-1985) were some of the largest production in Oldsmobile history. No way there were only 15,000 2-door Delta 88's built over that time span.
In 1985 alone, there were 15,002 Delta 88 Royale (note the "e" -- you do not have a "Royal"--Dodge made a Royal--you have a Royale) 2-doors made and 31,891 Delta 88 Royale Brougham 2-doors made. I bet that first number, 15,002, is where you're getting your number. It doesn't apply to your car though. It's only the Royales, not the Royale Broughams.
In 1984, the corresponding numbers 23,387 and 41,913.
Over that 8 model-year time span, in doing a quick add-up of the numbers, over 430,000 2-door Delta 88's of all flavors (Delta 88, Delta 88 Royale, Delta 88 Royale Brougham) were made. Delta 88 and Delta 88 Royale were available for that entire time span. The Brougham version wasn't added until 1980.
You do have a nice car, though, even though you don't know how to spell it or how many were made.

Meh, I just got excited about finally posting this up
My divorce was final according the the laws in PA on Wednesday and I didn't want any pics posted up, just in case.
I thought I had a rare model. I've only seen 4 2 doors that I can remember other than the 2 I've owned. I still like the 2 door better than the 4

They're EVERYWHERE.
What's wrong with 4-doors?
That is a very nice car. I like your plans for it, should make a nice sleeper.
Some of your plans sound familiar. I was going to put a 330 in my Delta as well, but the plans changed once I got the Cutlass.

Yes the ralley pack was only ava for a few years. They were more common in the the 98 and the Diesal Deltas. My ralley gauges actually have a diesal badge on it.
Driving around today I saw another Delta 88, at least an 84, same color, and we waved at each other, sharing that Oldsmobile love
Nothing wrong with 4 door, but other than the 2 2 doors I owned, I've only seen 6 in my lifetime

Careful with that statement...
Rallye Packs were avail 77-85. Through-out the lines. Just out of curiosity, where is the "Diesel" identifier? I have a bunch of rallye packs in my parts box, of course, not all working or presentable.
They also offered an "economizer" gauge. It was basically a vacuum gauge that told you how economical your driving is.
Rare, no... Uncommon, yes.
Either way, very cool option.
BTW... Nice 2 Dr. I'm partial to the 77-79's, but definitely have a love affair with that color blue. I'm slowly working on replacing all the interior in my 78 to the same interior color you are sporting on yours.
I also tossed a tach on mine, but attached it to the steering column. Eventually, I'll take that off and replace it with a shift light hidden in the A/C vent like my Mustang.
