Car hesitating going up hills.

My car was not getting gas. So I pulled out the fuel pump. One of the diaphragm was ripped. I rebuilt it. No leaks. It runs fine on flat streets. Has a full tank of gas. Has new fuel lines. New air filter. New fuel filter. Does anyone have any more ideas? Could it be the carburetor?

I think we may need more information.

Like, what kind of car, what engine, what carburetor, what modifications, how steep a hill, what throttle level it happens at, repairs, replacements, etc. done so far, for starters.

Water in the gas tank (sits at the bottom of the tank), water in the carb bowl, float adjustment, plug wire touching while going uphill are all possibilites among others.

It's a 62 Dynamic 88. 394 V8. 4 barrel carburetor. Not sure of throttle level.

One other thing I thought of is if the secondary flap is too loose it could be opening
to early under load?

A quadrajet expert might want to chime in on that one.

low secondary float level?

If the fuel pump diaphragm was "ripped," then maybe you now have a clogged fuel system at some point after the fuel pump?
