backspacing of a SS4
Does anyone know the backspacing of the ss4 rims.
i want to buy new rims in the future, and want to get close to what i have now.
I have the SS4 polycast wheels on my 69 Delta 88.
it is 15 inch with the 5x5 patern, and there is not much of a choise in the rims.
Is it close to 4" backspacing?

So if the rim is a 15x7 ?
The backspacing is 3.5?
I have room to play with, but want not go further to the chassis.
And i am surching for a nice type of rim, that have the look of stock.
So did any one tried, 15x7 wireweels? or cragar polisched eliminator.
Or a lookalike of the SS olds rims with 5x5 bolt patern?
Want to buy new rims, and are looking fore some new lookalike or with stock design in it.
like the cragar 500c serie

Almost. The measurement for wheel width is taken inside the lips of the wheel, where the tire's bead would sit. The measurement for backspacing is taken from the outside of the lip to the mounting surface. The backspacing differs from half the width by about 1/4" or so due to the thickness of the lip and any outward flare that might be present. In other words, a 7" wide wheel with zero offset will have a backspacing of about 3.75" - 4".
