[QUOTE=Sami;901233]Wow! That $120.00 to fill up.Brother I will never complain about $50.00 fill up here in Ohio .Is the gasoline better quality .

[QUOTE=eric66;901295]Not really. I think that our 98 octane fuel premium equals about 94 octane on your scale. I have 10.7 compression ratio and it works fine.

I once put those same headers on my '68. I had to beat the Hell out of two of the pipes, to the point they were less than half of what they started as, just to clear the steering box. Even then it was so close to the box, that I burnt out two power steering pumps. One of the pipes on the passenger side didn't clear the steer knuckle when you tried turning all the way to the right.
#48
I'm having those same problems now but i honestly am not to worried anythings better than it was (leaking junk 2" crossover compared 1.75 primary pipes so a little bashing wont kill me. Once i go for real power ill custom make some using the flange from these so its not a total waste

I managed to find some proper dual exhaust manifolds for mine, but I'd also like to build my own headers. I thought of pointing them straight down, not pointing away from the motor at all. I doubt they'd work well with say, an Edelbrock head, but they'd follow the port direction of a stock port fairly well.
#50
I thought about going with the stock dual manifolds as well but at $220 per side $440 total plus shipping i couldn't justify it to myself without trying this rout especially because I wanted to go 3" dual pipes and not 2.5". I'll have to do a PS cooler for sure and some high heat fluid so it doesnt boil. But again for now I think this is my best option.. but a huge pain in the ***.

What mini starters are you guys using, or even just regular starter thats smaller thab the stock one?
Got the drivers side bolted up finally dented quite a bit but there. I'm thinking of ordering the header pipe kit witb bends to make this work it would still be cheaper than geting the stock dual manifolds

I wasn't even close to happy with the fit once bashed. So I just ordered http://m.summitracing.com/parts/sum-670196 in order to cut out and reshape what doesn't work. And still it should come in cheaper overall even if i tack them and get them welded than the $400 manifolds

Parts are here! I should be able to get them cut and tacked up into place within the next 9 days (i work a weird schedule) but motor mounts trans mount and pipes! 20160413_133401_zpsj3hlyjns.jpg

I probably wouldn't even mind, mine started out as a pipe dream ( dad joke ) I was quoted at $150 to TIG them and that would put me at $360 coming in $80 under the cast repop units. I am going to look around a bit for a cheaper price but i still think even at that cost it's a win because I don't quite trust my welding skills enough yet and don't want all of my welds cracking the first heat cycle

The butternut yellow 1969 pictured with the M&J decal has after market 4 tube headers. I've seen the car at Quaker City Dragstrip & the Miller meet at Norwalk. It's been a while but as I remember only 2 tubes were reversed. I think he's on ROP, realoldspower site.

Also gear sets in the 3:55 ratio are available for these cars. A little pricey but the lower gear ratio will wake up these cars, best "bang" for the buck. Monza on this site carries them, I think their made by Metal Fab maybe. He's good to deal with and knowledgeable about these rearends. I like those Chevrolet rally wheels, they must be from an Impala, 5 on 5 bolt pattern. Nice looking Delta. Good luck.

Some progress got the passenger side done. Well almost done. Fitting welding and cleaning done i just need to strip and prime/paint with some high head paint. Turns out the drivers side is a bit worse than I had thought needs 3 tubes modified. Hpwever I'm feeling confident that I'll be able to get it done.
Please don't distroy the welds with judgment. I fogured id give it a go with my wire feed flux core worst comes to worse I'llhave to get it done/fixed later

No real new progress but some in the development stage looks like all 4 tubes need to be moved around. In order for the 3rd tube to go behind the last one and still clear the trans it needs to move unfortunately. I'm gonna just move it over one tube on the collector but I'll weld up the first tubebefore cutting the last one in order to keep the collector in its place

Well again I'm not a pro its not pretty but id say 100% better than it was. These are not done they still need to be cleaned up ground down stripped and painted both sides and if i can make the bend on the #2 tube look any better with some heat and a hammer I will but what do you guys think? They fit huzzah! 20160504_202619_zpsglbee0vh.jpg20160504_202004_zpsz7lnyf0j.jpg
