79-85 D88's Differences?

I want to replace my AC belt on my 85 D88 and I noticed on Rock Auto there is an option to chose a belt that was from the AC/fan/crank when all the others have an air pump on that belt.

The one with a AIR pump missing had a Canadain flag, noting it was a Canadain D88.

Did the Canadain D88's not have AIR pumps?

I already ordered the correct belt for my car, I was just wondering

Canada didn't require certain emissions controls until later than the US. For example, I don't think the Canadian 307s got the CCC system until the 1986 model year or so.

The correct spelling is CANADIAN. It would be just as insulting to call your country the Untied Status of American. Sorry, but your referenced spelling of my Country really bugged me, ok?

Actually Joe, Canada did have AIR pumps on cars back as far as 1973, right at the start of the oil embargoes. Our 73 Chevelle 350 had it and for the longest time I wasn't sure what it was. So it's conceivable that the 85 D88 did have an AIR system on it up here. My 83 98 didn't though.

The feds mandated tougher emission requirements here in the states, to this day we are still dealing with that. Each state is different. Here in Ca we have the toughest no doubt about it.On another note at least we still have the penny ,for whatever that's worth i guess as much as my opinion.Nick
