72 Delta 88 Air Conditioner Belt

Does the belt that drives the air conditioner on a 72 Delta 88 drive anything other than the air conditioner? I noticed the belt needs to be adjusted or replaced but the AC doesn't work and I don't really care about AC anyway.

If not, can I just remove the belt before it breaks? Should I stop being cheap/lazy and just replace the belt?

Thanks,

Tyler

It'll be fine without the A/C belt.

Everyone removed those in the seventies because they thought they'd get better gas mileage (removing the 455 never crossed their minds, though...).

Thanks. I couldn't imagine doing that for a daily driver but this isn't a daily driver and more importantly, is a convertible.
