65 Delta: Headlight switch removal

Hey guys,

how can I remove the **** of the light switch of my 65 Delta?
I've got a bad switch (rear lights don't work anymore) and I want to remove the switch. I succeded in removing the cables but I cannot remove the **** so I could take the whole switch off the dash ...

Any ideas?
I tried pulling it, I was looking for something on the back of the IP and so on, but no luck so far.

P.S:
I tested everything and I know it's a bad switch...

On the top or side of the switch there should be a round button you press in while you pull out the headlight ****. (access from behind the dash)

That button might also be on the bottom of the switch. But, yes, you do have to press it while simultaneously pulling on the **** to pull the **** and shaft that it's on all the way out. Then you loosen the retaining nut and remove the switch from the dash.

Try replacing both the rear tail lights. 1157 bulbs. On the offhand chance you could have a burnt out filament in each of them.

When you say you have blinkers, you mean hazard lights or using the turn indicator off the column

I'mtalking about the turn indicators. I checked both the bulbs (by shorting the headlight-switch-plug against battery) and they are fine. I already checked fuses, brake switch and the turn signal switch and they are fine too.
I am slowly running out of ideas...

Check the connector from the main rear harness to the tail lights. See if there's a broken wire or lost continuity in the wire that carries the running light power.
