56 olds undoing brake line help needed..tips

Im trying to unloosen the screwed in bolt but all i have managed to do it start to strip the bolt head..its stainless steel im sure so its not rusted..but man its stuck...any tip or tricks from someone who had the same problem would be nice..thanks

Here is cheap insurance. Replace the hose and the steel line ( it is not stainless, unless it's been replaced in the past) It is also peace of mind knowing that one of the most important pieces of the entire car is new and not almost 60 years old.

I have had a lot of success heating the fitting slightly with a propane torch or heat gun. You most definitly need a tubing wrench.

I think your a bit past the use of line wrenches on that one! Vise grips, a small pipe wrench, channel locks, etc... is your only recourse in getting that one apart. Like the above suggestion, I would lean towards replacement as they are not too expensive.

and its off

i used the heat and vice grips idea with a little smacking it with a hammer and cutting the brake hose short and putting a socket wrench on the end instead of a open mouth wrench and bing...its off...amazing what can make you sooo happy...
