We are going to need some more information to help you. A CCC Qjet, or dumb Qjet, standard HEI or with the computer? Do you have a CHK engine light on? It doesn't accellerate? 4bbl doesnt open? It is only a 140HP engine in a big car if it is a 307.

What carburetor did you put on your car? Hopefully it's an OE replacement from the auto parts store. Did you set the timing, idle speed and idle mixture screws after installing the new carb?

Your description is somewhat vague but I had a somewhat similar sounding issue with my 83 Royale a year or so ago.

The prescription for me was a carb cleaning, a tune up, and a new EGR valve. My car still needs work but this solved the worst of the problem which was the car losing power whenever it decided to. I'm nowhere near enough of an expert to say if your problem is the same but it does sound similar.

Once again, the carb for the CCC system used on the 307s MUST be properly adjusted following the procedure in the chassis service manual. Failure to do this will result in a poor-running car. You CANNOT simply bolt a rebuilt carb onto this motor and expect it to run right. The factory adjustment procedure must be followed EXACTLY as specified in the manual. Shortcuts or attempting to adjust it by the seat of your pants will not succeed.

You also need at least a dwell meter if not a scan tool and the Chassis Service Manual to follow.

Do you have a service manual for your car? If so, follow the tune up procedure. If not, maybe this thread will help:

I searched our forum but couldn't find a detailed thread. You'll need a multimeter and dwell meter to adjust the CCC Quadrajet properly.
