1977 olds pace car 88

i just found a 77 delta 88 pace car. it is a parts car. is there anything special about these cars that should be saved? i know they had the aluminum hood and hood hinges but is there anything else? i have not looked at it yet and won't if there is nothing special about them. did they have a posi?

Not sure if it's a posi or not? Might be an 8.5 rear. My 79 Holiday only has a 7.5.

Depends on the term special. 403 V-8's are getting tougher to find, along with the 2 door parts. Sport steering wheels, 15" SSIII's, Posi's were not standard on them.

The pace parts car I had came with the aluminum hood, and a 8.5 2.41 posi. If it does have the posi, I'd grab the whole car just for the trac lock posi friction plates. They want like 300 bucks for new ones. They had c clip housings, which is nothing special, but the rear end will bolt into any 73-77 cutlass, or 77-90 delta/98/CC
Another cool feature is the 60/40 split manual bench. Much lighter than the power benches.
The woodgrain dash and front header panel are 77-79 only which makes them more rare but not desireable, not many people are into deltas unfortunately.
Somehow the midget G bodies became more popular than the traditional GM 22 year running setup.

Does it have T-tops or a console? Oldsguy and I saw a 78 Holiday 88 in a salvage yard once with T-tops, buckets, and a console shifter. That must have been a COOL car!

Do you happen to have the header panel for this car?

I never did buy it. We could not agree on price.
