1967 Delta 88 steering box sloppy

I have a 67 Delta 88 sedan. The steering gear box wanders. Also needs no effort to steer. 100 % power assist. The front end parts seem tight. I’ve put radial tires on it. Car makes you constantly compensate for wander. Is there a fix or a steering gear box upgrade?? Any suggestions?? Car has 81k original miles with 425 4 barrel engine.

Obviously check the steering box for wear. Also, check the alignment. Factory settings on these cars was near zero caster. This made for easy steering, even with a manual box, but hurts tracking and straight-line stability. The biggest difference in new car steering geometry is the caster setting, typically 4-7 degrees. Since every new car comes with power steering, this is no longer an issue. I've managed to crank in about 2.75 degrees of caster on my 67 Delta, but that's the limit with the stock upper control arms.
