Driveshaft Balancing?

I have never had a driveshaft balanced. Is this something I should have done or is it not needed? I know nothing about the driveshaft for my W-30 build and wondering if i should have it done. It is not twisted and from the best I can tell it is not bent.

It's up to you, in 40 years of working on cars, I've never had to have a stock drive shaft balanced unless I modified it or had it repaired.

If its not vibrating dont worry about it. If it concerns you have it done

If you don't have any driveline vibration your driveshaft is in balance. If it ain't broke, don't fix it .

Go to a driveshaft shop. They usually specialize in trucks and heavy equipment.

Let your fingers do the walking.

Even replacing universal joints can throw the shaft out a bit. If it doesn't turn over 300 rpm, not a big deal. If it turns 6000 or better, it is worthwhile to re-balance. There are various performance and race shops who can make and balance a shaft. Two that come to mind and that I have used are Quick Performance and Mark Williams.
