U-Joint strap for type-O rear end

Checking two sources online, they show MOOG 53010 as the correct strap and bolt kit, but my rear end uses U-bolts that pass thru the yoke and are retained by nuts. (Edited)

What application do I look up, or better yet know the correct replacement part number?

Question: How would you screw both ends of a threaded U bolt into the yoke?

There are two different u-joint retainers:

1 - u-bolt with threaded ends, passes through hole in yoke and uses nuts/washers on threaded end of u-bolt

2 - strap with bolts that thread into yoke

So, you need either straps/bolts or threaded u-bolts/nuts, depending upon which style yoke you have.

You're right, I explained that wrong. My mistake.

I have U-bolts that pass thru the yoke, and are retained by nuts. Like picture one.

The O-Type 12 bolts have the u-bolt/nut style and the '71-up 10 bolts have the strap/bolt style. So you are looking for the u-bolt style for a '67-'70 Olds O-Type.

Supercars unlimited has them listed:

Rock Auto has a listing for u-bolts but theirs says 8.2" diff and has some notes about fitting 3R yoke only. I am not sure what that means.

U-bolt u-joint hold downs

A lot of people will get the 8.2 Chevy mixed up with the 8.2 BOP

BOP is Mechanics R3 which is a 1 1/8" cup (wider u-bolts ) The Chevy 1310 u-bolts are 1 1/16" and will not fit the BOP yoke. I have seen guys spread them to fit ....!!! THIS IS WRONG do not do this. They should just slide right in - Jim

Brian, thanks for that info! I'm gonna add it to my O-Type part numbers spreadsheet.

Amazon shows to have them for $6.45:

So does the 8.2 BOP u-bolt fit the O-Type yoke? Below is the info from Rock Auto's web site for the 1969 Cutlass listing:

USA STANDARD GEAR Part # USA41186 U/Bolt Kit for 8.2" BOP, Mechanics 3R aftermarket Yoke only.
Rear Diff; RWD; GM 8.2" Rear for Buick, Oldsmobile & Pontiac
