Transmission Storage

Had my trans rebuilt 6+ months ago TH400. It will still be awhile until installation. Is there anything I need to be aware of such as fluids and such. Had a pro shop do it. Never thought about this until lately.
As always thanks for the replys!

Jeez, I hope not.

I've had a TH400 sitting in the shed since I pulled it out of a car in '93.

Just installed my TH400 after 20+ years of sitting. Just a fluid change and front and rear seals, running fine.

If it's sitting,
Don't have the converter hanging on it, and you should be fine.

I had one sitting for over 10 years and it's been doing just fine. For anyone concerned with re-commissioning an old transmission I would advise doing the following:

Replace filter
Replace front and rear seals
Replace gear select lever seal
Replace speedometer driven gear housing o-ring
Replace speedometer driven gear seal
Fill with new fluid
