Replacement 72 cutlass 10 bolt bolt in axles?

I've called a few companies and no one seems to understand what I'm looking for since it isn't a ford 9" or a ch@vy axle!!!

Sounds like a 1971/ 72 corporate 8.5 ten bolt cover bolt in axles and the cover has a "slash" upper right hand corner \ but more angle. Summit Racing has pictures of the different covers and after you pull your axles count the splines and measure.

BIA 10 bolt 8.5 rear

So what is it your looking for?
Axle shafts?

I have good used axles also from when we do 30 spline swap outs in the 8.5 BIA rears.

We have them if you need. Yukon 1541 28 spline axle 29.75 long with the oiled bearing system... set9 bearing 712146 seal

Brian is on the Buick site.

I try to visit all GM car sites to answer questions...IT is a large task and usually can only answer VERY late at night. trying hard to keep intouch you can also PM Call or try the JDRACEsite too.

I went to Cruisin' the Coast this week with our 71 Cutlass. My son was following me and saw that the driver's side rear wheel wasn't rolling normally. I jacked up the car and see now that it looks like I've got a bent axle, which explains a handful of problems that we've been having: a wheel vibration we couldn't balance, premature wearing of brake pads, a pulsing pedal, and pads that won't stay in adjustment. It looks like both are bouncing around a little, but the driver's is the worst of the two. I know it's not the tires or wheels because I've watched them rotate on the balance machine and they're true. The car was rear ended before I bought it and restored it, so I guess the axles took a little bit of a jolt.

I've looked on line and can't find replacements that I can be sure are the right part. Mine are 28 spline, 29 1/2" long, press-bearing without c-clips.

I saw reviews of the Yukon part and there are numerous complaints about the length and bearing fit.

I'm open to used replacements.

Suggestions?

Thanks for helping!

Bill
