Yeah, I guess Olds didn't sell that many Anti-Spin pumpkins on automatics back in the Jetaway days. Now, however, your low gear is about a full ratio deeper, so that peg-leg isn't going to make it.

A complete drum-to-drum rear that's been properly set up and is good to go will probably be the simplest way to get both rear wheels turning. Plus, now that you have an overdrive you can go for an even "friskier" gear -- maybe a 3.73 or a 3.90. As for application, although any '64-'72 unit from any A-body can be made to work, in keeping with the KISS principle, I'd look for something out of a '64-'65 -- that way you know the dimensions will be right.

Keep your original parts, though, in case you ever want to sell your car to a purist.

Yeah, I would have thought it was the rule for posi's not the exception. Had to change the tranny because the flywall switching gizmo is a dead horse. purist or not ( I was, till this.) I dropped a not so lite money bag to see if the thing could be salvaged but -- They all have the same wear.

Thanks for reply -- if ya have any leads please let me know -- Im an idjit on differentials -- I was gonna say rear ends but this thread would have lit up like Christmas.

Well, I'm no expert either -- which is why I recommend replacing the whole thing drum-to-drum. As for finding one, why not post a "parts wanted" ad here on CO?

Not sure what the "flywall switching gizmo" is. Do you mean the Jetaway's switch-pitch torque converter? No matter, you're better off with the 200-4R anyway.
