I need some Expert Advise!

I have a 87 cutlass 2-dr that i been had for a while.
I got a 403 with a Th400 tranny,with O.E 2.14 / conventional gears
and I bougt a 85 SS Monte Carlo /sliprear end with3.73 gears
Would my car respond better to the ss rear ,or do i
need to find a lower gear differential?
Is there anyone can Help me out with my drive chain
decision?
Any suggestions on different components
would be a big help?
Thanks!

If you plan on a bit of highway use, go lower, like 3.42's. If it's just a street/track warrior, 3.73's should be fine

3.42 to 1 is a higher ratio, than 3.73 to 1, not lower.

Norm is correct.
1 divided by 3.42 = 0.2924
1 divided by 3.73 = 0.2680

29 is higher than 26
