Engine Paint for 350 Diesel

I'm in the process of rebuilding the DX350 in my '81 Delta 88 (I know, I can hear some of you laughing already, but that's okay!). Does anyone have information on where I can get the correct color engine paint? Valve covers are kind of a bluish-green metallic paint. I'm not sure if that was specific to the diesels or not, but I don't recall seeing that color on anything else. If anyone has any info that would help, I would appreciate your letting me know!

I suggest you use POR 15 paint. It is FAR superior to any other engine paint I have ever used. I used it on my 455 I just built and it is very durable. Oldsguy also used it on his 455 with great success. I don't recommend anything but POR 15, unless you don't mind the paint baking off in a year or so.

Yes, I've heard good things about that. Is it available in colors? Or will I have to settle for Basic Black?

POR 15 is available in about 15-20 different colors. Check out their website.

Thanks, I'll check that out!

I guess, if I can't get the exact (or really close) color, it would be better to go with black than with some "wrong" color...
