Drive shaft

Hey guys,
I currently have a 1971 442. When I got the car about a year ago if came with a th350. I lucked into a th400 soon after I got it then got really lucky and found an m20. Well needles to say I'm converting the car from column shift auto to 4 speed but going to need a longer drive shaft. Is there any place that sells them or am I going to have to make one? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Best bet would be to find a driveline shop and have one made.

Do you still have your TH350 driveshaft? I've not set the two side by side but have been told the TH350 and 4 speed drivelines were the same. If someone knows for sure hopefully they'll speak up.

All 1964-72 GM manual transmissions are the same length as the TH350 and ST300 automatics. The driveshafts are the same length (for a given application and wheel base). Note that 4spd driveshafts were usually one-piece tubes whereas the automatic driveshafts were two concentric tubes with rubber isolators between them. These will work on a manual trans, but you may want a solid driveshaft anyway.

Thanks for all input guys, I do still have my driveshaft for the th350 but sounds like I will have one made. I'm just happy to hear I don't have to track an original one down! This group has helped me out a lot kudos to who started this and everyone who shares.
