Detroit Locker

Has any one installed a Eaton Detroit Locker in their Olds? If so, any issues?

And to confirm, the Detroit Locker is basically a standard locking differential, correct? This allows cornering and regular highway driving right? In other words, not permanently locked.

You need to determine exactly which type of rear end you have in your Olds before you go buying parts for it.

Good call. Why do you think you need a detroit locker? Not a quiet or street mannered unit. Jim

I have one in my 67 442 vert that I used to street strip. I really dont know if it was supposed to make popping or snapping noises at times after cornering. It seemed to work on the strip. It has some sort of ratcheting action. My gear is a 466. Thats about I know about them.
