I know this might be subject to debate, which is perfectly fine. Which ring and pinion gear manufacturer have you guys had the most success with? what about wheel bearing and U-joiunt?

Richmond. In both race cars...NOT Pro series surprisingly... no issues with them with hundreds of passes and some cruise miles.

My Motive gears were made in Italy if I remember correctly, and the newer stuff is made in Korea.

Motive, who bought out Richmond. I talked with a rep at SEMA and they are still making their stuff in Italy, and are moving the Richmond mfg. there since the old Richmond tooling was worn out.

The Motive gears are real nice. The US Gear, which I believe is who makes them for Strange,is very nice as well.

Motyive gears and etc.

Well I have not seen a Motive gear that has had a MADE IN ITALY on the box in YEARS....
All I do know is Motive is really screwing up all the richmond boxed product there are gears in the wrong box and even ACTAL gears stamped WRONG

IE. 12 bolt 3.90 gears that motive sells are 4 series like GM. Well the Richmond gears are made to fit 3 series in the part number and all the sites. BUT the actual gear packed is a 4 series gear with the RICHMOND part number for the 3 series . YOU will go NUTS if you try to install the gear on a three series carrier.

IE. We received 3.42 Olds gears with 3.08 chevy truck gears in the box...etc.

IF they keep going like this they will go out of business. PERIOD. Richmond went out of business they same way Bad product and too many returns and letting equipment get old and out dated.

Good luck on your gear choice and NO MATTER what gear you purchase check everything as it may never be what it is suppose to be.

Yes Richmond has gone down hill , i have had very good luck with the Yukon line and Motive as well . I would say that 50% of the Richmond do not pattern out and have to be returned .

I know a few people that want to run those 12-bolt Chevy 4-series 3:90's on a spool.I know Greg Alexander actually ordered a custom spool made for his 3-series 3:90's.
You can get good patterns with the Richmond gears,IF you ignore the numbers scribed on them.

The last few I did, I put USA standard in. The runouts barely squeaked by, and one of the patterns was a little wobby sobby. they were not the best. BUT just fine for a derby car.
