yOU NEED TO TELL US THE YEAR OF THE REAR? AND IF IT IS INTEGRAL HOUsing rear 1965-1971 or the earlier gasser 9.3 drop out third member like a 9 ford?
IF it is a 9.3 drop out from 1957 -1964 we need the case casting number to tell you the bearings.

I just bought a rear out of a 62 Starfire 3:42 gears and want to put a posi in it. The third member looks just like the picture.
Thanks for the info

9.3 Olds JD Race vs Fabcraft posi ANTI SPIN

Mine is clutch Eaton style and Fabcraft is Auburn cone unit. My units can be used with 2.69 - 6.14 gears one carrier does everything the shims are on the carrier bearings to move it left and right to make the carrier 2 or 3 series. Mine is rebuild-able down the road - Cone type rear when it is done is junk. NOW how long it takes you to wear one out...??? well you could be dead by then as long as your not circle tracing the car... Jim

Not mine but someone here in Cali is selling these 9.3 pumpkins. It might make sense to pick up a spare.

Pontiac / Olds 9.3 drop out pumpkins
