Axle installation and Lube.

Well, I finally have some time to re-install my axles. While cleaning the housing, I noticed what looks like bearing races setting back 15/16" from the end of the tube. They are dirty so they are not part of my original bearings. Are these stops? My new bearings and seals measure 1 1/4". So does the seal "squash" as it is pressed in?? Just trying to be careful.
It is a posi and I will get the GM additive. What gear lube do you recommend?
Thanks again
Kevin

RE

Thanks for any answers experts!
The actual measurements are 15/16 and my setup on the axles is 1 1/8 after close checking.
I was hoping you guys would be more informative. Sorry, but I am very detailed on things. I could have given you .001 measurements but I thought that was close enough.
Thanks Again!
