That sounds like the only possibility. To find the side with a broken axle shaft, try jacking the rear wheels up one at a time, rotate the wheel, and see if the carrier moves or not.

If the driveshaft turns but the wheels do not, there's something wrong in the differential. Pull the cover and look for broken teeth on the ring or pinion gears, broken cross shaft, or broken side gears.

ALL that STILL should not cause the car not to move. Weird. You put the car in drive and it does not move?
Drive shaft spins, Yes? And these are the pictures of the rear? Look at all the ring teeth to be sure your not missing a BIG chunk.... see if the pinion shaft broke in 2 ...it could just be spinning the shaft and broke at the head?
leave the cover off and watch the gears and see what is happening when in gear forward and reverse...BE CAREFUL!!! do not get run over.... Jim

rear end

Pretty weird...And if you put it on the ground it does not go?
So it looks like you put your rear breaks on and hit the gas and the carrier turns so cones are totally gone. BUT even if the cones were totally gone the car should move like a OPEN non posi diff? one wheel should default and make the car go. BUT if there is something we can not see going on in the limited slip posi unit well ...Just have to open that up.

Weird... Have to think more on this.

If you listen to the video you can hear a hum or grind. And also when I put it in park the transmission grinds
