68 442 axle bearing retainer plate

68 442 axle bearing retainer plate

Does anybody know what the torque specifications are for the four bolts that secure the axle bearing retainer plate.

sure, factory specs are 40ft lbs for the axle bearing retainer/backing plate bolts.

3/8 is usually about 35 ft lbs. They are prevailing torque self locker fine thread, right?

I do not have the factory spec handy right now

lol seem to have this 69 Service manual open all the time for some reason. may as well someone got some use out of it hahaha..

anytime, you should be fine as long as you are close with the stock type retainers. if you are using those heavy duty aluminum housed bearings then you probably need to use different numbers.
