10 bolt swap

Started a rear end swap on my 67 cutlass. Going from the original 12 bolt to a chevy 10 bolt. The 12 bolt is pretty worn out, she growls and howls on the highway and parts seem to be pricey. The 10 bolt is from a 72 chevelle, and I temp installed before painting and replacing seals and it fits perfectly. Still need to find a u~joint to fit but that should be easy enough. I will post some pics tomorrow. Let me know if you would like any more info on how this swap is going, I would be glad to share.

The Oldsmobile has a larger diameter cap and I think it's longer between the caps. I've got a Chevelle 12 bolt under one of my cars and found the correct u-joint at the local NAPA dealer. I just told them what I needed and they came up with it, two caps to fit the Chevy rear end and two caps to fit the Oldsmobile driveline. John

Sweet, thanks for the info! For sure the caps on the olds are larger and do not fit the chevy yolk. I was going to hit up napa and see if they actually had a u joint with 2 different sized caps (wishful thinking) and was assuming I would end up peicing something together. That will help out a lot at the parts counter. Other than that, this has been a "plug and play" installation. Everything else matches up nicely.
